People can decide for themselves, but I want to put this here so they can... I lived in Silver City for a long time... I relocated from Sliver to southern Oregon 16 months ago, and before leaving, because I would be towing a heavy trailer, had a new clutch put in to my 2002 Tundra by R & L... I also got some new tires which I am happy with... I right away had issues with the new clutch, but there wasn't a lot of time before I had to leave, and R & L kept putting me off, over and over, saying the noises, the roughness taking off in first, and the clutch stiffness would go away... None of it ever went away, and was a constant frustration and worry ever since... At one point I did some work on the truck myself, including replacing one of the O2 sensors, and discovered that they had not reattached the wiring harness to its anchor points on the transmission... The harness was rubbing up against the sharp edge of one of the anchor tabs on the transmission, and if I had not caught it and reattached the harness (in a couple places) the harness would have eventually shorted out... They also did not replace the insulation under the floor matt properly, around the shifters... Fortunately R & L is a Napa shop, and so very recently I took my truck to a very amazingly great Napa shop here where I am now ... At the same time, I thought I'd delayed to long, believing the warranty was only for 12 months... They asked me for the repair ticket from New Mexico, determined that the work was still under warranty, did a thorough inspection, discovered some wrong and to long bolts were used to remount the transmission and were grounding out on the body and transmitting some of the noise, and that the pressure plate was defective... They contacted Napa central for me and confirmed the warranty, and put in a whole new complete clutch at no cost to me... The shop here showed me a photo of the old (R & L) pressure plate with one of the fingers bent, and said the plate had also been unevenly over-heating in spots because of the uneven pressure... The difference between this new clutch and the last one is extreme, this clutch feeling like it did when I bought the truck brand new...
